New Vision Wilderness (NVW), located in Medford, Wisconsin, is the premiere wilderness therapy intervention for struggling teens, pre-teens, and their families. Position Overview:

The Clinical Director at New Vision Wilderness will oversee all clinical treatment including the management of the clinical team at our program. The Clinical Director is a key member of the leadership team and will represent the treatment team (students, parents, program staff, admissions, family services, admin staff, canines, etc.) to fulfill NVW's core purpose of creating joy and healing generations. The Clinical Director will prioritize high quality training and implementation of our trauma and attachment specialized treatment model (CASA Treatment model, treatment interventions), the engagement and delivery of services, and manage a robust outreach and marketing plan for their team. This position requires a natural "customer is king" and "hospitality" focus in order to meet the needs of students, referents, parents, and employees in an evolving market. The Clinical Director must be a leader with superb management skills and experience.


  • Implementation of training and supervision of clinical team
  • Oversee clinical processes throughout programming
  • Clinical intake, case management, individual and group therapy, post-trip clinical summaries and all related paperwork
  • Carry a caseload of up to 4 students while providing mentoring and guidance to Clinical team and Field Guides
  • Clinical supervision of students, timely completion of paperwork, and weekly planning of clinical interventions
  • Provide excellent customer service during weekly phone calls with students' families and all referral partners
  • Through scheduled outreach activities, help spread the word about the top notch clinical work happening in Northwoods and in your group

Job Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in counseling-related field required
  • State licensed or proof of license eligibility
  • 21+ years old
  • Five years' experience working in the field with at-risk youth or comparable experience preferred
  • Two years' experience in supervision and team mangement
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds for extended durations and have the ability to walk at least 1 mile over uneven terrain
  • Must be able to pass a Background Criminal Investigation
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred; Certified Wilderness First Responder ideal
